About The Artist

John Dick-Peddie was raised in Las Cruces and became friends with Arnold at Mayfield High School and college years at NMSU. As is life, after receiving their degrees, their paths went different directions both professionally and geographically. Their friendship however remained intact to date. John was diagnosed with Parkinson’s in 2012. He has since started incorporating some of the challenges experienced by the disease into his art in an attempt to give the viewer a better feel on how the disease affects mind, body, and spirit. In 2014 John started experimenting with the addition of neon colors added to the painting. The attempt is to create a painting within a painting. He has coined the procedure as the “J.D.P. technique it appears to be quite unique.
